Uninstall a Recent Windows update to fix the 0x80004003 error

If your mic was working properly and stopped working only after the windows update, you might want to uninstall that update and see if that fixes your Issue.

Even if you are setting up Mic for the first time on your windows 11 or windows 10 PC, you must try and uninstall recent updates installed on your PC. 

Here is a step-by-step guide on how to uninstall updates on your own.

Steps to Uninstall Updates in Windows 10.

  1. Click Start and go to settings.

  2. Click on Update and security > View Update History

  3. Click on Uninstall updates. A list of recent updates will show.

  4. Look for KB5014699 which seems to be the culprit in most cases. Right-click on it and click Uninstall.

For Windows 11 Users:

  • Click on Start Button and then Settings

  • Go to Windows Update > Update history > Uninstall updates.

  • Look for KB5014697 and click Uninstall.

Once the Respective updates have been successfully Uninstalled from your PC, you must now go and check if your mic error 0x80004003 has been fixed or not.

How to fix Error 0x80004003 In Microsoft store.

As we discussed earlier, this error also occurs when you try installing any app from the store. There are two possible solutions, and you can try them both.

1: Run Store Troubleshooter:

Open Windows Setting by Clicking on the Start button OR Press Windows + I keys.
Click on Update and Security > Troubleshoot > Additional Troubleshooter.
Now, Scroll down, select Windows Store apps, and click on Run the Troubleshooter.
Wait for the Troubleshooter to complete. Then, Click Apply this fix if a solution is found.

2: Reset the Windows store

To Reset Windows Store, go to Settings > Apps > Apps & Features.
Search for “Microsoft Store” in the search bar and click on it.
Now, Click on Advanced options to get an option to Reset Store.
